Two Lives, Two Miracles: A Furmom’s Faith Journey

There’s a moment every furmom dreads — when you look into the eyes of your beloved animal and something inside you whispers, “Will she make it?”

I’ve lived that moment. Twice. And both times, what pulled us through wasn’t just medication or effort.

It was surrender.

It was faith.

It was God’s healing hand moving through even the smallest lives we often forget He deeply cares for.

🐱 Miracle #1: Tyra – From Steroid-Dependent to Joyfully Healed

Tyra is my cat — my first miracle. She had been on steroids for 8 months due to a persistent, painful sore in her mouth. She grew irritable and withdrawn, unable to enjoy her food, her life, or even her usual cuddles. The vet had begun preparing us for a possible tooth extraction.

Then in April, I started doing something small — but powerful. Every time I gave her a meal, I prayed with her. Quiet, sincere prayers, asking God to take over where medicine couldn’t.

And something began to shift.

By May, we stopped administering the steroids altogether. She began eating again on her own — and even returned to her old habit of crunching on kibbles. Her mood changed. The anger disappeared. She became playful again.

And the surgery we once feared?

No longer needed.

And if you ever step into Tyra’s little corner of the house, you’ll notice a small statue of St. Francis quietly watching over her. It’s more than just a decoration — it’s a quiet reminder of all the prayers whispered during her recovery.

Because healing doesn’t always come from medicine alone.Sometimes, it happens in places filled with faith, peace, and gentle love.

Here’s Tyra — calm, content, and fully herself again — resting under the gaze of St. Francis. A healed cat. A protected space. A prayer answered.

🐶 Miracle #2: Holly – From Silent Suffering to Chicken Cravings

Holly is one of the street puppies I’ve been fostering. She was her usual matakaw (Tagalog for “very food-loving”) and playful self — until she suddenly wasn’t.

She stopped eating. Became warm. Lethargic. No poop, no pee. She wouldn’t even lift her head when I came near. I tried Nutri-Gel, RC recovery food, dextrose in water — I even tried force-feeding. But she just spat it out.

That night, I looked at her and felt helpless.

So I did the only thing left to do.

I prayed.

The next day, she began sniffing and showing signs of activity.

That afternoon, she nibbled on chicken and pork.

And the day after that? She was wagging her tail, bouncing, and begging for food again — like nothing happened.

Meet Holly — our miracle pup!Just days ago, she was barely moving. Today, she’s back to her energetic, food-obsessed self — a living testimony that even in our lowest moments, God’s hand never leaves us.

🐾 And Then I Realized... This Was Bigger Than One Pup

It wasn’t just Holly.

She had a sister, whom I named Molly.

And a mama — whom I named Pretty, after my childhood dog. But it wasn’t just the resemblance. I gave her that name because I never got the chance to say goodbye to the first Pretty. When I was away at college, my brother and his wife sold our old family dogs — including Pretty — to a slaughterhouse without my knowing. That memory never left me. The pain of that betrayal still lingers.

So maybe… this is God’s way of rewriting that story.

Maybe this Pretty is His way of letting me finally save the one I couldn’t.

And then there’s the papa — Jack — who actually belongs to someone else in the village but is a bit of an escape artist. He comes and goes as he pleases, yet always finds his way back to check on his little family.

Meet the Holly Family 🐾From the streets to safety — this beautiful family of four (Mama Pretty, Papa Jack, and pups Holly & Molly) found their way to our garage… and into my heart. What started as a rescue mission for one pup turned into a full-circle miracle. Here they are now — loved, safe, and no longer just surviving… but finally living.

🙏 What These Two Lives Taught Me

These weren’t just recoveries. They were miracles.

Because I truly believe:

When we surrender everything to the Lord, nothing is impossible. We just need to have that faith… and let His will be done.

Healing doesn’t always happen with fireworks. Sometimes, it happens in bowls of chicken, in whispered prayers, in the quiet patience of waiting, and in the miracle of waking up to a brighter tomorrow.

💛 To Anyone Reading This...

If you're fighting for someone — a pet, a person, or even yourself — remember this:

God still heals. He still listens. He still answers.

No pain is too small for His mercy. No creature too insignificant for His grace.

I say this loud and proud:

God loves me. And I see it in the lives He lets me love in return.
